Wellcraft recently introduced the 402F, their largest center console to date, a big, brawny model that the company says has amazing space onboard and which is projected to carry a very aggressive price in the mid-$600,000 range. The initial boat was equipped with quad Yamaha 425 horsepower outboards for optimum performance.
The 402F features two dive doors, one forward (convenient to the helm) and the other to access the cockpit, and both have mounts for ladders. The cockpit has two aquarium-type bait wells, padded coamings, and two comfortable fold-out stern seats.
The cockpit is all about the fishing action while the bow is designed for outdoor entertaining, and under the console is a cabin with private enclosed head and a convertible dinette. The port side of the windshield swings open with the cabin door, a neat innovation.
